Sunshine Reef really fired over the last few days of the week and Chris Lacey (below left) was there on Sunday to take advantage of the frantic activity from the Tuna schools. Chris lost a monster 'Longtail' at the side of the boat after a 30 minute tussle but shortly afterwards managed to boat the 15kg (est.) specimen he's pictured with. He was armed with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and a Shimano 6500 Baitrunner reel loaded with 30lb line. His bait? A trolled Squid skirted Pilchard.
Northern Bluefin Tuna and Coral Trout
And Lisa Berridge (above right) from Los Angeles capped off a great holiday in Noosa with a half day Cougar One charter to Sunshine Reef this morning. Not only were conditions perfect for a relaxing day on the water but great for fishing and the 1.8kg Coral Trout Lisa boated was a nice bonus. She was kitted out with a Wilson Live Fibre/Alvey offshore combo.

Quality Whiting have been in good numbers on the beaches and in the estuary system as eight year old Ryan O'Flaherty (below left) discovered when he wet a line at Munna Point last Monday. Armed with a Jarvis Walker threadline outfit loaded with 4kg line, Ryan tempted the 490gm Whiting he's posing with using a live Yabby on a No.4 longshank hook.
Whiting and Estuary Cod
Six year old Aaron Kelly (above right) was very pleased with the 1kg (cleaned) Estuary Cod he caught in Weyba Creek on Tuesday. He was using a Stealth rod and an Abu 6500 reel loaded with 4kg line. His bait? Frogmouth Pilchards.
