| Tim French from Buddina (below left) did well down at the river mouth this morning, catching and releasing an 85cm Flathead and keeping the 1.6kg specimen he's pictured with for the dinner table. His bait? Live Herring. | |

| And young Brittany Laner from Birkdale in Queensland (above right), was drifting a live sand worm on a No.4 longshank hook in the stretch between the lakes on Saturday when the 1.5kg 'Lizard' she's posing with came to the party. She was armed with a Jarvis Walker threadline combo loaded with 12lb line and 20lb mono trace. | |
| Local yak angler
Ian Tagg got in amongst the bait boils in Laguna Bay on his Swing
'Angler' fishing kayak on Wednesday and, casting a 50gm metal
slug lure, managed to get under the numerous Mackerel Tuna and snag himself
this nice 9kg Northern Bluefin. Ian was using a Penn Power Spin rod and a Shimano TSS4 reel loaded with 25lb line to a 60lb trace. |
