The 'Trout' were out in big numbers this week as Sam and
his good mate Jack (below) found when they fished wide on Sunshine Reef
on Wednesday morning. The lads were out there with Sam's dad 'Woody' (see
page one) when their live whiptail bait on a 55lb handline was taken by
the 5.8kg bar-cheeked trout they subsequently boated in a combined effort. |
| Marley Steiner (below left) may only be two and a half years old but he's already an accomplished angler. Marley was at Double Island Point with his grandad Bruce on Thursday when his live worm bait was taken by this thumper whiting. | |

| Jack Trevethan (above right) from Glen Waverly in Victoria was fishing with a prawn bait in the murky waters around the Munna Point Bridge on Saturday afternoon when he attracted the attention of this 850gm javelin fish or grunter bream. | |
The coral trout seemed to be everywhere on Sunshine Reef
this week. Scott Paterson (below) was out there on Thursday when his pilchard
bait was taken by the 2.6kg specimen he's pictured with. |

And Thursday was obviously 'Trout Day' at Sunshine Reef as Steve
Cole from England (below) found when he joined a Cougar
One charter to the local reefs. Steve used a squid/pilchard
