| With the swell on the river mouth bar making life difficult for boaties for much of the week the local yak anglers were in their element. Gary Trim (below left) did well on Tuesday morning (only his second time offshore in his Swing 'Angler' kayak) when he hooked up with and boated the 8kg Northern Bluefin Tuna he's pictured with. He was using a Penn Power Stik and a Penn 750SS reel loaded with 20lb line and a wire trace. The lure that did the deed was a Gold Bomber. | |

| And Andrew Campbell (above right) was trolling a Gold Bomber lure West of the shark nets this morning when he hooked up with a 2.5kg Spotted Mackerel then shortly after; an 8kg Northern Bluefin Tuna. He was armed with a 5kg-8kg Penn Powerspin rod and a Shimano Baitrunner 3500 reel loaded with 14lb Fireline and a 40lb monofilament leader. | |

The Noosa
Blue Charters boats made a run for the outer reefs when the
winds dropped last Wednesday and Adelaide visitor Cameron McDonald (right)
was aboard a Cougar One charter that dropped
the pick at Chardon's. As you can see, the Spanish Mackerel were on
the bite and Cameron was more than happy with the 7kg and 8kg specimens
he boated. He was kitted out with a Gary Howard rod and an Alvey 825C
reel loaded with 30lb line. |
