Laguna Bay has been unusually quiet for the last couple of months so when local yak angler David 'Bomber' Peel found Snapperhimself arguing the toss with this 6.1kg Snapper on Tuesday morning he was more than grateful for the attention.
David was trolling a Davo's Spaniard Special (loaded with a Slimy Mackerel) behind his Swing 'Angler' fishing kayak at the time and was just wide of Jew Shoal when this quality 'Knobby' struck.
He was armed with a 15kg Daiwa Interline rod and a Penn Powerspin 6000 reel loaded with 15kg braid to a Knotted Dog leader

It'd be hard to prove (unless he fessed up of course) but it sure looks like Rob McCullogh (right) from Belthorpe, Queensland is saying a prayerful thank you to whichever deity he feels controls the supply of quality reef fish around our local reef belt.

Rob was on a full day Cougar Too charter to Double Island Point last Monday when the 12kg Scarlet Sea Perch he's pictured with monstered his Pilchard bait.

He was kitted out with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and an Alvey 825C reel loaded with 30lb line.

Like North Reef, 'The Coffees' was a bit of a hit and miss destination this week as Shaun Andrews (right) discovered when he dropped the pick there on Thursday morning.

After putting in a lot of time and effort, Shaun boated the 6.4kg. Snapper he's pictured with but it was, unfortunately, the only keeper he managed for the day.

Still, a 6.4kg 'Knobby's' a good result in anyone's book and Shaun didn't seem about to complain about his result.
