The snapper were everywhere this week. In good numbers on most days and of good quality most of the time. Chris Lacey and Jeff Konig (below) spent a good few hours at North Reef on Friday and while they found the fishing a bit slow, still managed to come back with a couple of 5kg and 5.5kg snapper, a cobia and a number of mixed reefies.

Local yak angler Ian Tagg got up early on Saturday morning (like 2am) and paddled out to Sunshine Reef in the dark to get the best of the early morning bite. And get it he did, boating three good squire, a nice sweetlip and the 5.5kg 'Knobby' he's pictured with. Ian was armed with a 5kg-8kg, Ian Millar Snapper Buster rod and a Shimano Symetre threadline reel loaded with 15lb braid to 30lb fluorocarbon leader. The lure that did all the damage was a 1oz Little Max Vibration plug.

And yes, here's more snapper. They just kept coming this week and we have to apologise to those anglers that missed out on appearing in the report. We just ran out of room and energy!. Art Taylor and Mal Jarvis (below) also did well at North Reef with these 3.5kg and 5kg snapper being their standouts on a leisurely Friday mornings excursion. The lads headed out around 9am (gentlemen's' hours) and were back at the ramp not long after lunchtime with a good feed of fish.

Last but not least, Jarrod Slater (below) was out at North Reef on Cougar One on Friday with a few mates celebrating his bucks party (that's his brother Trent and buddy Aaron on Page One) when, between beers, he managed to hook and land this 8kg cobia. Jarrod and the boys had a great time and even managed to get to the church on time. Yes. That is a dress Jarrod's wearing in the photo. The colour suits him, don't you think? We're told he changed in time for the wedding.
