Flathead were certainly active down at the river mouth this week and soft plastics were one of the better options to attract one of these 'Lizards'. Brayden Montebruno (below left) used a Gulp Minnow to good effect there on Wednesday afternoon around low tide and while he dropped quite a few, the 1.5kg specimen he's holding was destined for the dinner table. Brayden was armed with a Penn Applause threadline combo loaded with 3kg line.

And the only thing we know about Caila Ball's 'Lizard' (above right) is that it weighed 1.5kg and came from Harbourtown.

Fishing buddies Pete and Muz had a ripper of a time out wide on North Reef (or south D.I.) on Saturday, getting into some good fish and leaving them biting. The boys came home with an eski full of reef fish but their standouts were a 7kg Snapper, a 9kg Jewfish and a 6kg Samson Fish. They were using Wilson rods, Alvey reels and Davo's Pilchard baits.
