The Mangrove Jacks were almost in plague proportions this week and Weyba Creek was one of the better areas to target them

William Hood (right) from Pittsworth in Queensland boated this 2.05kg specimen while fishing there around lunchtime on Thursday.

William, who was armed with a Shimano threadline outfit loaded with 12lb line and 20lb monofilament trace, used the ever faithful Gold Bomber shallow diving lure to attract this quality fish.

The Goat Island area was working well this week for a number of fish species with Whiting and, as you can see by the photo on the right, Grunter Bream leading the pack

Local lad Hudson Reed hit the jackpot there yesterday afternoon when his live Yabbie bait caught the attention of this 1.35kg specimen.

Hudson took about seven or eight minutes to boat this fish as his Abu/Shimano 4000 outfit was only lightly loaded with 2kg line.
