Wilson SureCatch and Live Fibre
The local yak anglers were out in force this week and did well on the pelagics. Paul Anderson from Palmwoods (below) paddled out to Sunshine Reef on Tuesday morning and, trolling a whole pilchard, hooked and landed this 3.6kg Spaniard.

And Steve Crisp (below left) was trolling a B52 lure behind his Swing Angler fishing kayak on Jew Shoal on Wednesday morning when it was monstered by the 13kg Spaniard he's posing with.
He was armed with a Shakespeare Ugly Stik and a Shimano TSS4 threadline reel loaded with 30lb line.
Spanish Mackerel Yellowfin Tuna
Also on Wednesday morning, Bill 'Billybob' Watson (above right) paddled out about 3km's wide of the 'Pin' and, on the way back in, trolled up the 12.5kg yellowfin tuna he's pictured with. He was using a 6kg-8kg Wilson Live Fibre rod and a Shimano Baitrunner 6500 reel loaded with 20lb Fireline to a 40lb mono trace. His troll rig? A Davo's Spaniard Special.

The 'Jack's' were on fire between the lakes as Gold Coast angler Warren Gillespie (below) discovered early Wednesday morning. Using live poddy mullet and herring baits he boated these 1.2kg and 1.8kg fish not far from Tronson's Canal.
