Sunshine Reef produced a wide variety of species this week but none more colourful than the 5.2kg Coral Trout that Brisbane angler Graham Lawrence (below left) boated late Friday morning. Graham, armed with a Shimano TLD30 combo loaded with 30lb braid and 50lb monofilament trace, used a live Yakka on a 5/0 hook to tempt this quality specimen.
Coral Trout and Snapper
And quality Snapper were very much in evidence on the inner reefs this week as local anglers Jess Cooper and Jamie Robertson (above right) discovered when they dropped the pick at Sunshine reef on Saturday night. Using Penn 330GTi combo's and Pilchard baits they boated a range of reefies, with these 4.8kg and 5.2kg 'Knobbies' being the standouts.

Melbourne visitor Simon Andraos (below left) booked a three quarter day charter to North Reef aboard Cougar Too on Thursday and apart from boating a 6.5kg Spanish Mackerel, hooked up with the 2.5kg Snapper he's pictured with.
Snapper and Golden Trevally
Local angler Bryan Kinnaird (above right) was working the Munna Bridge area from his with a 'Rainbow' Power Bait on an 1/8oz jig head on Friday morning when the waters simply came alive with fish. During a busy two hour session Bryan boated Tailor, Whiting, Bream and the 1.7kg Golden Trevally he's pictured with. He was kitted out with a Penn rod and a Shimano threadline reel loaded with 8lb line and 15lb mono trace.
