Saturday at Borumba Dam and away from the coast, in the lea of the hills, there was hardly a puff of wind to ruffle the surface of the water. As you can see, Davo's staffer Shannon Watson (left) and shop regular Darryl Dimmick spent their time productively, working the waters with chartreuse spinner-baits.
Saratoga were the target species and although the guys dropped twelve they boated and released four. Darryl caught the standout of the day and at 66cm (3kg+) it was a quality specimen. Both anglers were outfitted with G-Loomis rods and Shimano Calcutta 200 reels loaded with 20lb Fireline.

After being very quiet for the last month or so the Trevally fired up with a vengeance over the weekend.
And left is another interesting catch.
Ryan Hardman boated this 1.7kg 'Cale Cale' Trevally at Munna Point on Sunday.
Features unique to this particular Trevally are gill rakers extending right into the mouth and an underslung jawline.
Ryan was kitted out with a Shimano rod and Shimano Aero 1010 reel loaded with 2kg line and 3kg trace. His bait? Live Prawn on a 1/0 hook. The rest of his catch was Flathead, Bream and more Trevally.
Damien Hunt, right, used a Laser lure to good effect on Sunday morning in the Woods Bays, his standout result being this 1.91kg Trevally. His outfit was a Gary Howard custom rod, a Penn Power Graph reel, 3kg line and 8kg trace. His lure also attracted Giant Herring, Queenfish and more Trevally.
