The murky conditions in the lower estuary have really been suiting the 'Jacks' lately and this week they really fired up.
Local lad Tom Cels (right) hooked up with an absolute cracker of a fish on Tuesday night when his live Poddy Mullet bait attracted this thumper 3.2kg (55cm) 'Jack'.
He was lightly armed with a 1-3kg Sic Stik Pro rod and a Shimano Stradic 1000 reel loaded with 6lb line 12lb leader.
After a quick pic Tom released this beauty. Goodonya mate.

There were Pippies galore on the exposed coastal beaches this week and those who took advantage of the windfall were able to attract more than a few hungry fish. Young Tom Marks from Sydney took the opportunity to gather up and cast out a few of these excellent fresh baits and this bag of Whiting was the result. He was armed with a light surf combo.

The young guns were out in force this week and the weather was no deterrent. Lewis Treloar (below left) from Tewantin got into a large school of Bream in the Culgoa Point area on Saturday morning although the 450gm specimen he's posing with was this standout. Lewis was using an Alvey estuary outfit loaded with 4kg line. His bait? Frozen Prawn.

And another Tewantin lad Josh Gameiro (above right) caught and released a number of small Bream at Harbourtown on Wednesday before he landed the 400gm keeper he's posing with. His bait? Garfish strips.

Neil Pollock from North Lakes is a regular visitor to Noosa and a mad keen fisho to boot. Neil got in amongst some good Whiting (top weight 400gm), Bream and Grunter Bream (top weight 1.25kg) around Goat Island on Wednesday morning. He was kitted out with a Shakespeare Ugly Stik and an Alvey 500 reel loaded with 6lb line. His bait? Live Yabbies.
