Trevally have been a pretty consistent species in the Woods Bays over the last few months and it's nice to see that the quality is still there. Local angler Mark Arnall boated this 1.75kg 'Big Eye' around 5.30am on Saturday morning using a Storm 'Chug Bug'. He was using a G-Loomis rod, a Shimano MG50 Chronarch reel, 15lb P.E braid and 20lb leader.

The Flathead population is very healthy in the Noosa River system these days, due in a big way to fishing fraternity's adherence to the DPI revised size and bag limits for this species that were brought in a few years ago. Many anglers are now reaping the benefits and one of them was Brett Dallinger who was visiting Noosa from Toowoomba. Brett was drifting a live winter Whiting in the Tewantin area when it was monstered by the 1.65kg 'Lizard' he's pictured with.

Weyba Creek turned out to be a good option for the odd Mangrove Jack this week and local angler Tyson Anderson's 1.4kg fish was a good example. Tyson tempted this 1.kg 'Dog Bream' on Friday afternoon with a Frogmouth Pilchard on 2x1/0 ganged hooks. He was armed with a Shimano Sedona combo loaded with 8lb braid and 20lb mono leader.
