Noosa Blue Water Charters made the most of the eleven straight days of fishable weather with scheduled trips to most of the local reefs. Last Tuesday Michelle Jones, right, from Balclutha in the South Island of New Zealand, was on one of their charters to Chardon's Reef and was obviously very pleased to come up with this 5kg+ Estuary Cod. Michelle was kitted out with a Gary Howard rod and an Alvey reel loaded with 30lb line. Her bait? A Pilchard and Squid combo.

Pearl Perch

Estuary Cod
And Blake Richardson, left, from Christchurch, New Zealand ( just up the road a bit from Michelle) was on the same outing and boated this quality 3kg Pearl Perch during the afternoon session. Blake was armed with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and an Alvey reel loaded with 30lb line. The rest of the boat's catch was Maori Cod, Parrot Fish and Moses Perch.

There were some quality catches weighed in at Davo's this week and this 4.67kg Coronation Trout that 'Muzza' Sharp, right, boated at the Barwon Banks on Wednesday was one of them. Iodine Bream was the bait that attracted not only this colourful fish, but a 5.7kg Mahi Mahi and a few Pearl Perch. Muzza was using his faithful Penn 320GTi combo.
Cobia
Coronation Trout
Local angler Simon Smith, left, found himself with a bit of a tussle on his hands when this 14.7kg Cobia (Black Kingfish) jumped his whole Pilchard on 3x7/0 ganged hooks on Monday morning. Simon was out on the Barwon Banks and was kitted out with a Penn Power Stik and an Abu 7000C3 reel loaded with 30lb line and an 80lb steel trace.
