'The Hards' proved well worth the effort for Michael Gregg from Sunshine Beach. Michael (below) and his good buddy Ben did an overnighter there on Friday and bagged out on Pearl Perch. The two that Michael is posing with tipped the scales at 3.2kg and 4.1kg and were tempted with Yakka fillets. He was using a Shakespeare Ugly Stik, a Shimano Baitrunner 6500 reel and 30lb braid. The rest of the catch was Snapper, Moses Perch, Rosy Jobfish, Teraglin Jew and Parrot Fish.

Dan Pertot (below left) has been popping in and out of Davo's over the last week or so, weighing in the fish he's been boating in his new tinny. The 1.3kg Diamond Trevally he's picture with here went for a Frogmouth Pilchard in the Woods Bays last Monday night. Dan was armed with a Shakespeare Ugly Stik and a Penn threadline reel loaded with 6lb line.
Diamond Trevally Snapper
Snapper are the buzz word at the boat ramps at the moment with some quality fish in the 6kg+ range in good numbers around the middle reef belt. Danny Meredith from Brisbane (above right) boated this 7kg 'Knobby' while at North Reef on Saturday. Danny, who was on a full day Cougar One charter, was using a Penn rod, an Okuma reel and 50lb braid.
