| Local yak angler Bill 'Billybob' Watson (below left) trolled up a couple of good size Yellowtail Pike around the National Park coves early on Friday morning then paddled out North of Jew Shoal where he put them to good use trolling for Spanish Mackerel and Snapper. The lack of Spaniard activity, fortunately, was more than compensated for by the 5.8kg and 6.4kg Knobbies he caught between 8.15am and 9am. Bill was armed with a 6kg-8kg Wilson Live Fibre rod and a Shimano TSS4 spin reel loaded with 30lb Platinum line. His troll rig was a fluorescent green Davo's Spaniard Special. | |

| And Tristen Hateley (above right) was fishing in-close on North Reef on Friday night when the 11kg Jewfish he's posing with ran off with his live Yakka bait. He was armed with a Shimano TLD20 combo loaded with 40lb braid and 80lb trace. | |

North Reef was a very popular and very productive destination this
week as Melbourne angler Andrew Little (right) found when he dropped
the pick there on Friday. Andrew and a buddy boated a number of Snapper
during the morning session and literally topped the esky up when this
14kg Cobia or Black Kingfish took a whole Pilchard on a 4x5/0 ganged
floater. Andrew was armed with a Silstar Powertip rod and an Okuma threadline
reel loaded with 15kg Penn line and 80lb mono trace. |
