The girls were at the forefront of a lot of the action this week and as you can see by the photos below, very happy to be there. New Zealand visitor Virginia Scobie (below left) bought some Beach Worms from Davo's Bait and Tackle on Tuesday morning and was back in the shop in the early afternoon with her prize catch, a 1.2kg Tarwhine. Virginia, who was using a Wilson surf rod and an Alvey reel loaded with 6lb line, landed this quality fish in the surf at Sunshine Beach.

And Claudine Whitney from Tasmania (above right) had a ripper of a time in the outer Woods Bay (just out from Riva's) on Tuesday, boating Bream, a Diamond Trevally and the two 1.8kg Golden Trevally she's pictured with. Claudine was kitted out with a light telescopic rod and a Jarvis Walker threadline reel loaded with 12lb line. Her baits were live Yabbies.

Last, but not least, Caroline Kropack and her eight year old daughter Madison (below) joined a half day Cougar One charter to North Reef on Friday. Apart from enjoying a great day out, Caroline hooked up and boated the 9kg Cobia she and Madison are holding. Caroline was using an Angler Azagale rod, a Shimano Baitrunner 6500 spin reel and 25lb line.
