| Local angler Paul Grenfell (below left) did well on the Snapper when he did an overnighter at 'The Hards' on Wednesday but his standouts were these 7.5kg and 9kg Red Emperor. Paul tempted these quality 'Government Bream' with Pilchard baits on 6/0 Mustad hooks. He was armed with an Angler rod and a Shimano Calcutta 700 reel loaded with 50lb line. | |

And Brisbane angler Graham Lawrence (above right) was more than happy with the 3.25kg and 6.5kg Coral Trout 'double' he picked up at Sunshine Reef, also on Wednesday. Graham, who was using live Yakkas as his main draw card, was kitted out with a Sabre short stroker rod and a Shimano TLD30 reel loaded with 50lb line. |

| There's been some good Bream
around over the last month or so both in the river, and as in the case
of the photo on the right, the coastal surf beaches. Tewantin angler Chris
Topliff did well on the 'Yellowfins' at Castaways Beach on Tuesday morning
with the 1.4kg specimen he's pictured with being the standout. Chris was
using a Wilson surf rod and an Alvey reel loaded with 8lb line. His bait?
Mullet strip on No.2 ganged hooks. And what about the Snapper lately. Have they been quality or what? Grant Brow, below, popped into Davo's with what turned out to be the week's top weight 'Knobby', an 8.5kg snodger. Grant tempted this quality fish with a Yakka fillet during a hot session at North Reef on Thursday morning. He was armed with a Penn Power Stik and an Okuma reel loaded with 10kg line. ![]() |
