| There were a few
quality Whiting on the bite in the lower estuary system this week and the
Munna Point area was one of the better spots to pick up one or two of these
great table fish. Doug Crowe (right) from Kyabram in Victoria used a live
Davo's Beach Worm in
that general area on Tuesday afternoon to attract the 600gm elbow slapper
he's pictured with. He was kitted out with a Jarvis Walker threadline combo
loaded with 8lb line. And on the offshore scene, Snapper were definitely still very much the buzz word and the middle reef belt the most productive destination. Mark Babarouich from Beaudesert (below), boated the very nice 6.5kg 'Knobby' he's posing with on yesterday's three quarter day Cougar One charter to 'The Coffees'. He was armed with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and an Alvey 825C offshore reel loaded with 30lb Pioneer Flexline. |
