| Chardon's ''Wide' produced
the goods this week as Brisbane angler Chris Mahaffi (below) discovered
when he spent the day out there on a Cougar
Too charter on Friday. Armed with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and
an Alvey 825C reel loaded with 30lb Pioneer Flexline, Chris boated a number
of reefies, although the 4kg Red Emperor and 3.5kg Pearl Perch he's posing
with were his standouts. And with the Noosa river bar causing boaties a few problems it was up to the local 'yak' anglers to get the runs on the board. Fishing Noosa webmaster Bill 'Billybob' Watson (right) launched his Swing 'Angler' kayak at Main Beach around 5.15am yesterday, trolled up a 1kg Tailor 10 minutes later and 30 minutes after that, trolling a Reidy's B52, boated the 6.5kg Yellowfin Tuna he's pictured with. ![]() |
