Sunshine Reef continues to be 'the spot' for Coral Trout and the Noosa Blue Water Charters boats have consistently done well for their clients with this very colourful reef species.

Steve Bramley from Melbourne (left in photo), and local angler Tim, boated these 2kg and 3kg 'Trout' while out there on Wednesday on a half day Cougar Too charter.

Coral Trout

Borumba Dam has been producing quite well lately with most of the resident species responding to well placed lures and flies.

Local angler Ross Paulger spent last Tuesday out there with Mark Pertot from Davo's and caught and released Saratoga and Yellowbelly (pictured) during a productive session.

He was armed with a Shakespeare Catira rod and a Shimano Curado reel loaded with 4kg Toughline braid.

He got best results casting and retrieving Jackals around the timber areas.

Yellowbelly

David Hatch just loves his offshore fishing and nearly always does well on the local reefs.

Last Monday he dropped the pick at Sunshine Reef and although he was busted off by a quality Spanish Mackerel he managed to make up for the loss by boating a 5kg Coral Trout and 4kg Snapper.

'Hatchy' was armed with a Shakespeare Ugly Stik and a Penn Jigmaster reel loaded with 30lb line.

His baits? Floated Pilchards and Mullet flesh. The big Spaniard he dropped, however, went for a live Yakka.
