The Woods Bays really fired up this week as you can see by the fish on this page. Brothers-in-law Darrin Marinelli and Gordon Volcan (below) were fishing from the jetty of their rented waterfront holiday home on Saturday night when they landed the 2kg Queenfish and 2.2kg Mangrove Jack they're pictured with. The 'Jack' went for a floated live Poddy Mullet bait while the 'Skinny' was taken on a Gold Bomber lure.

Another angler who did well in the Woods Bays this week was Noosa local, Chris Laidlaw.

Chris was drifting live winter Whiting baits around there on Saturday afternoon when he hooked and boated a Grunter Bream and was busted off by a thumper Trevally before boating the 1.5kg specimen he's happily posing with.

He was armed with a custom rod and a Shimano threadline reel loaded with 8lb line.

And not to be outdone by the boys, Sneza Marinelli hooked and landed this 2.05kg Mangrove Jack in the Woods Bays last night.

Sneza, who is married to Darrin in the top photo (and sister of Gordon) was floating a live Poddy Mullet out from the jetty of their rented waterfront house when it was monstered by this quality fish.

She was armed with a Shimano Baitrunner 4500 threadline outfit loaded with 20lb braid.
