PAGE TWO

Saturday was a good day for the offshore brigade as the following photos confirm.
Steve Carey from Tewantin (right) spent Saturday morning at North Reef and apart from boating a few reefies, came back with the 9kg Cobia or Black Kingfish he's pictured with. He was armed with a Wilson Live Fibre rod (boy, are they popular!) and a Penn reel loaded with 25lb Spiderwire. His bait? Whole Davo's Pilchards.

And local angler Joel De Stoop (below) didn't have to go too far out into Laguna Bay to nail the 12kg Northern Bluefin Tuna he's posing with. Joel was trolling a gold Reidy's B52 shallow diving lure on Saturday morning when it was hammered by this feisty 'Longtail'. He was using a Penn Powerspin rod and a Shimano Baitrunner 4500 reel loaded with 8kg line.

Snapper

Noosa Blue Water Charters vessel Cougar Too spent a good part of Sunday at the Barwon Banks and as you can see by these two photos, it was a productive charter.
Daniel Elliott from Ipswich (left) is pictured with one of a number of Snapper boated on the day, with his fish tipping the scales at 3.8kg. He was kitted out with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and an Alvey 825C reel loaded with 30lb Pioneer Flexline.

And on the same charter, Brent Williams from Geelong (right) had an exciting time of it when the thumper 12kg Amberjack he's posing with slammed his Pilchard bait.
He too was kitted out with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and an Alvey 825C reel loaded with 30lb Pioneer Flexline.
