Local angler Mark Tippet (below left) celebrated his 40th birthday two weeks ago (happy birthday mate) and was delighted to find a Perception Swing 'Angler' fishing kayak amongst the many presents he received on the day. Only a couple of days later, on his maiden voyage, he trolled up a 2.6kg Mangrove Jack in the Noosa Waters canals where he lives and then last Tuesday followed up with the 1.5kg specimen he's pictured with. Mark was armed with an Abu rod and an Okuma Fina reel loaded with 15lb braid and 30lb leader. His lure was a gold/orange MARS shallow diving minnow.

Russell Jeffs from Sunshine Beach (above right) did very well on yesterday's full day Cougar Too charter to North Reef, boating two of the day's standout Snapper. And at 5kg and 5.5kg they were certainly top quality fish. Russell was kitted out with a custom Wilson Live Fibre rod and a Shimano TLD20 reel loaded with 10kg line.
