As offshore conditions became more settled the 'out-wide' Barwon Banks were once again a good option and one of the first to take advantage of the situation on Wednesday was Cougar One. Brisbane angler Peter Freemantle, left, was on that charter and here he is posing with his standout; a 3.5kg+ Pearl Perch. Peter was kitted out with a Wilson Live Fibre rod and a Shimano TLD20 reel loaded with 40lb braid.

Sydney visitor Gay Ellis, right, was out with the Noosa Blue Water crew at North Reef the next afternoon and as you can see by the 4kg specimen she's posing with; the Snapper were very much on the chew. Gay's outfit was a Gary Howard custom rod and an Alvey 725C reel loaded with 30lb Pioneer Flexline and 55lb trace.

With the cooler weather, the better quality Bream are now entering the system. Peregian angler Adrian McCarthy, below left, nailed the 0.91kg specimen he's pictured with around the Weyba Bridge last Monday. Adrian was armed with a Shimano Conquest rod and a Jarvis Walker Gold Integra reel loaded with 12lb line. His bait? Live Herring on a 1/0 hook.

Colin Hall, above centre, found that trolling a Wilson SureCatch Minnow lure (gold/silver) around the Munna Point area on Tuesday afternoon was a good way to attract the attention of the local 'Lizards' and the 1.61kg fish he's holding certainly couldn't resist the temptation as you can see. Colin's outfit? A Daiwa ProCaster-Z rod and an Ambassadeur baitcaster reel loaded with 10lb line. And sometimes basic is best. Carlos Fernandini's favourite (and lucky) colour is obviously red as you can see by the photo above right. Carlos made a quick trip to North Reef on Saturday afternoon, dropped a whole Davo's Pilchard on a 5/0 hook over the side and, using a 200lb hand line, came up with this 5.1kg Coral Trout.
