Snapper came back on the bite in a big way this week and local angler Greg Melinz (below) was lucky enough to be in the right spot at the right time. In this case the spot was North reef and the time was around 12pm on Sunday. Greg was out there with a couple of friends and is seen here with his top weight, a 4.5kg specimen.

Flathead, as mentioned in the general report, were in good numbers throughout the system this week but were especially numerous down at the river mouth.

Local lad Josh (right) was down there last Monday afternoon and, after losing a 'big one', successfully landed this 1.3kg fish.

John Warmerdam seems to do pretty well on the Bream as his previous weigh-ins have shown and this week was no exception.

John was fishing at Castaways Beach around high tide on Thursday morning when the 900gm 'Yellowfin' he's pictured with took the bait.

His bait? Mullet gut.
