| Runner
or line guide binding is more than half the work in custom building a
rod and the same technique is used when replacing a damaged runner. We put this section together on the basis of a home rod repair and with the bare minimum of equipment required to achieve the desired result. The two part, fast set epoxy and nylon binding thread can be purchased from any good tackle store ( like Davo's ) and the roller assembly can be simply put together using caster wheels purchased from your local hardware store. Just remember to jam the swivel plates. One set of wheels should be almost touching, the other should have a space of about 1cm between them. The other items you'll need: a roll of 1/2" masking tape and a sharp knife. You also need the rod and the replacement runner but, then again, you know that, don't you! |
