With the school holidays in full swing the young guns were in and out of Davo's, topping up their bait buckets, getting whatever info they could as to where the fish were biting, and weighing in their catch. On Thursday morning local lad 'L.J' Elphick (left) put a Mullet fillet to good use when he nailed this 500gm Bream at Harbourtown. He was armed with a Jarvis Walker threadline combo loaded with 8lb line.
And also on Thursday, Ryan Bennetts (right), visiting Noosa from Albany Creek, was very excited when he weighed in the 380gm Whiting he's pictured with. Ryan boated his prize down in the Frying Pan using live Yabby on a No.4 longshank hook as his draw card. He too was kitted out with a Jarvis Walker threadline combo.

Flathead Three year old Aiden Vitale (left) nailed his first 'keeper' Flathead last Sunday and at 0.95kg it was a great debut. There was a rumour that his father may have helped him a little bit with the landing of the fish but as this was hotly denied by the young fella, we didn't pursue the matter. Aiden landed this nice 'Lizard' up at Harbourtown using Prawn on a 2/0 hook as his bait. He was kitted out with a Shimano Taipan rod and a Eurostar reel loaded with 9lb line.
On Monday morning Hayden Simmonds (right) bagged himself a 400gm Whiting while wetting a line in Noosa Sound. Hayden tempted this excellent table fish with one of this species' favourite foods; a live Yabby on a No.6 longshank hook. He was armed with a Jarvis Walker threadline combo loaded with 6lb line.
